This Symposium will seek to provide some answers in how to break inside the corporate culture of influence and lead with integrity in head and heart.
We will take an honest look at and have candid dialogue around four topics:
- Integration of chaplaincy services within the greater organizational culture.
- Building bridges that align with Human Resources Wellness Initiatives that raise performance and visibility within the gaze of the C-Suite.
- The dynamic synergy of how teamwork makes the dream work in patient and staff care - to maximize caring for both persons and souls - with a Palliative Care Section chief physician and a Senior Director of Patient Advocacy.
- How a career chaplain with over 25 years of experience, who has always reported to the C-suite/CEO, with and without a dotted management line, made a strategic leap.
Steps and strategies will be outlined from the perspective of the presenters’ experiences - starting from overseeing chaplaincy services to three cost-centers; to leading another non-chaplain division; to being invited to spearhead a corporate strategic total wellness initiative culminating in becoming a vice-president reporting directly to the C-suite. Included will be vignettes of pivotal moments in a 20-plus-year chaplain career - sharing the push and pulls of linking strategies and managing managers while ascending the corporate ladder.

The Symposium will be recorded and will be made available to registered participants approximately 3-4 weeks after the Symposium has concluded. Registered participants will receive instructions on how to access the recordings when those become available.
Registered participants will receive an e-mail confirmation upon completion of the online registration and payment process. Instructions for logging into the sessions will be e-mailed to all participants two business days before the event.
The registration fee (minus a $50 non-refundable processing charge) will be refunded up to five (5) business days of the scheduled event. APC reserves the right to cancel the program within five (5) business days of the scheduled event, if an insufficient number of people register. In case of APC cancellation, all registration fees will be refunded.
