Description:

Overview:
During this session, I will discuss the benefits socially and statistically for conscious and intentional care for Black and Brown patients and families, team members, and members of our department and chaplain colleagues. By reviewing past, present, and potential future engagement, we can increase competence and responsibility for ensuring that all are truly welcomed in healthcare. Finally, there will be scenarios/vignettes to reflect on how to better care. Attending this session will increase people's understanding, comprehension, and awareness of what needs to be done in healthcare to ensure that Black and Brown lives matter in healthcare. Health care disparities will be discussed.
